Hope you had a Happy 4th!

We at the Staniec house certainly did! Max played in a 4th of July soccer "invitational" for his soccer club. It was his first time playing on a regulation sized field. We, of course, plopped ourselves down at ONE end of the field and the teams spent most of the game playing at the OTHER end - whoops! So, no pictures from the game, but here is Max after the game with one of his good friends, Logan.

Cate enjoyed her second 4th of July (we think...she's saying a lot but it's not like she walked up to us and told us she had a great time!). No fireworks this year either - maybe in a few years...I'm not sure loud, colorful explosions are on the list of "enjoyable activities" for toddlers. Frankly, I'm not sure they're on the list for the toddler's mother so no rush there! Although we did miss out on the 1st Annual Staniec Family Pre-Firework Picnic, complete with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries (go Lauren!), both of which ARE on the toddler's mother's list :) In lieu of fireworks, we scored 2 new toys for Cate from a Craigslist posting. Both are Little Tikes ride-on toys that had only been previously used on carpet!! Can you imagine? I felt guilty letting her use them outside. But, alas, all good things must come to an end. Cate just loves the Cozy Coupe - when she can get it away from her brother, that is.

So, that about sums it up from here. We hope you had a great weekend and were able to be with the ones you love.
